Iām Guy Kedar. I live in Tel-Aviv, where I build things for the internet.
I've loved making things for as long as I can remember, but it took me some time to figure out I could build products with code.
I got a bachelor's degree in Business with an accounting major at IDC-Herzliya but quickly realized the accounting path wasn't for me. After some time working in the family business in real estate and alternative assets investments, I looked for my own way. I found the perfect idea for a new start-up, thought of a business plan, did some research, and then concluded that I had no idea how to build it.
So I spent some time learning basic coding skills online and very quickly realized I like building things with code. I signed up for a 3-month intensive coding Bootcamp and haven't stopped learning and expanding my knowledge since.
Straight out of the Bootcamp, I got hired at Haaretz group, a leading newspaper group in Israel, which gets 10s of millions of page views per month. I had a significant part in building the component library and many different page types, payment pages, microservices, integrations, analytics, and more.
Today, I'm a co-founder of DeeDz, where we're working on building the best social recognition platform out there. As a solo developer, I do everything, from design to front and backend coding, infra decisions, ci/cd, ios, Android native apps, and dev-ops.
Hobbies - I take them very seriously š
I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to try a lot of different hobbies, from getting my private pilot license at age 19, working as a snowboard instructor, kitesurfing, wakeboarding, practicing yoga, and many more.
Check out the hobbies section where I will post more updates on those.
Last but not least - Family
The most important project I am a part of š
